WHY IS CULTURE SO IMPORTANT IN CHINA


TRADITIONS


  • Dragons are a symbol to show an emperor's power so to the Chinese they are very and important especially at new years.

  • The Chinese new year tradition is a great way to reconcile.

  • Today Chinese parades are annual traditions in many cities in china.

RELIGIOUS PERCENTAGES


Muslims makeup about 2 % of the Chinese population. About 1 % of the people in China are Christians. Overall the Chinese government doesn't highly encourage religion.


MAJOR RELIGIONS
Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism are the major religions throughout most of the Chinese history. Confucianism - is based on the ideas of the Confucius a Chinese philosopher. This religion stresses the importance of moral standards and well ordered society in which parents rule their children, Men rule women. It deeply emphasizes deep respect for one's ancestor and for the past. Buddhism- reached china from India. They taught strict moral standards and the ideas of rebirth and life after death. They also believed in many gods and appealed to them in there time of need. Taoism- is a native Chinese religion. It teaches that a person should draw from everyday life and live in harmony and nature. Taoism began in 300B.C. and is largely based on a book called " The Tao Teaching. Taoism came to include many elements of Chinese folk religion and so became a religion with many protective gods.


BELIEF V.S. COUNTRIES

Other countries may have a government that highly encourages religion when their government could care less about religion. So it may cause rivalry between the 2 Countries because they may argue about religion plus it may offend some people in both countries.
